Damaged Goods: Corrupted & Restored

Damaged Goods:  Corrupted & Restored

“Restore unto me the joy of my salvation” Psalm 51.12

Damaged Goods: Corrupted and Restored is the theme for the 2nd Annual College Week at Spring Mill Bible Camp.  The mission behind the theme is to engage in the active battles that exist in our world of good versus evil.  We are the reason of the war.  Satan is seeking our lives while God is defending us.  We will talk about the evil present in our world today and we will discuss how God is fighting for us.  We are all damaged goods.  We are corrupted by evil.  But the good news is this: We are RESTORED!

During this week we will discuss many issues…issues that we often think we face alone however you will find out there are others struggling with similar challenges.  This week is designed to be fun and relaxing, filled with worship and praise, but it is also designed to be spiritually challenging.  Our goal of the week is to be REAL and to create a comfortable place to open up and share.  Bring your joys, bring your pain.  Bring the good and the bad.  Bring the ups and the downs.  Come be real for a week as we search together for answers.

We are created in the image of God, however the evil presence in this world has us all corrupted.  Satan studies our lives and seeks us out…however, we have a guard in Jesus.  There in fact – we are corrupted, yet RESTORED…the blood of Jesus is restores unto us the joy of our salvation.  Praise God.  Regardless of where we are, we are loved by God.  Praise God that he still loves us although we are damaged goods.

We invite you to be a part of the experience.   Please consider joining us in the ministry.  And invite your friends to come along with you.

Snow Days!!!

I must preface this that I am a high school teacher.

I feel like a 3rd grader again watching the news report on any evening that a snow fall might come. The news station may only say 1/2 an inch…but by the time word gets around school or better yet, around collegues…the 1/2 inch might as well be 12 inches or a foot of snow. I love it.

So, as you can guess I am sitting at home enjoying the sixth snow day in as many weeks. We may go to school all summer, but a cold snow day is glorious. And as it still snows, tomorrow may be off and then of course we will need a two hour delay upon our return. Safety first.

So…why did I become a teacher? Two reasons – 1. Summer and 2. Snow Days.

the above is not true. maybe tomorrow I will blog the true reasons I become a teacher. But to foreshadow…I love teenagers and never want to grow up.

Take some time today to enjoy the snow, enjoy a hot beverage and catch up on some reading.
